{"id":466,"date":"2014-11-23T10:52:53","date_gmt":"2014-11-23T17:52:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=466"},"modified":"2014-11-23T10:52:53","modified_gmt":"2014-11-23T17:52:53","slug":"thinner-thanksgiving-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=466","title":{"rendered":"Thinner Thanksgiving #1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thinner Thanksgiving Tip #1:\u00a0 Lighten Up!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/healthy-thanksgiving.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-485\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/healthy-thanksgiving.jpg?resize=425%2C282\" alt=\"healthy-thanksgiving\" width=\"425\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/healthy-thanksgiving.jpg?w=425&amp;ssl=1 425w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/healthy-thanksgiving.jpg?resize=300%2C199&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thanksgiving is soooo indulgent that there are easy areas to skim on calories that you won&#8217;t even notice.\u00a0 (And no one else will either)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sour Cream <\/span><\/strong>&#8211; I still eat sour cream even though I know I could switch it for other things.\u00a0 I like it on baked potatos and on chicken nachos&#8230;&#8230;However, on Thanksgiving, you&#8217;ll be eating so many different things that cutting this out makes a big difference.\u00a0 Use plain regular or Greek yogurt instead!\u00a0 It&#8217;s just as creamy and delicious I swear.\u00a0 If nothing else, at least buy fat free.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Butter and Oil<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; I understand that some recipes, especially those of the dessert variety, need butter as a molecular component to cook correctly.\u00a0 In those instances, I would look it up.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not always sure here.\u00a0 However, resist putting excess butter on top of already buttered items.\u00a0 I buy unsalted butter all the time and use it for everything.\u00a0 If you naturally use salted, here&#8217;s a great chance to cut down on a lot of sodium! If you can use other things than butter, do it.\u00a0 I just don&#8217;t know what they are \ud83d\ude42 I think fruit puree?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Salt<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Salt is delicious.\u00a0 I was on a low sodium diet for a few years while living in my parent&#8217;s house due to an illness in the family.\u00a0 So I don&#8217;t really have an issue with sodium and cutting it out.\u00a0 However,\u00a0 I do get salty cravings sometimes!\u00a0 The easiest way to cut out salt at this meal is (unfortunately&#8230;.) what you brine your turkey in.\u00a0 I usually use salt, apples, oranges, cranberries, onion and herbs.\u00a0 This year I&#8217;m going to cut way way down on the salt and see what happens.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Rolls <\/strong>&#8211;<\/span>I know I know I know.\u00a0 Bread is awesome.\u00a0 However, a buttered roll can cost you easily 350 calories.\u00a0 So for a lot of people, this can make it or break it.\u00a0 How many of us have more than one???? I will be having rolls, but just one at my thanksgiving feast.\u00a0 Why? Because I work out and I can!\u00a0 So if you are like me, go for it!
