{"id":614,"date":"2015-01-04T16:10:56","date_gmt":"2015-01-04T23:10:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=614"},"modified":"2015-03-29T17:35:06","modified_gmt":"2015-03-29T23:35:06","slug":"green-monster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=614","title":{"rendered":"Green Monster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week I&#8217;m back to work!\u00a0 I am greatly looking forward to getting back on my regular eating and fitness schedule!\u00a0 I love being on vacation but I feel like I&#8217;ve only been eating crap for two weeks straight.\u00a0 It isn&#8217;t true of course but it definitely feels true!<\/p>\n<p>Today I thought I would share a go-to breakfast from the beginning of my weight loss.\u00a0 I still will do this occasionally when feeling off balance or needing a good reset.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Green Monster<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I love smoothies because they feel like a treat.\u00a0 Also, it&#8217;s a much easier way to get whole fruits and vegetables.\u00a0 Below is a recipe that I make all the time: The Green Monster.\u00a0 It&#8217;s great in the morning!\u00a0 It gives me lots of energy and keeps me full all morning.\u00a0 It is packed with spinach which keeps you fuller longer. Also, since it&#8217;s thick, it is easy to drink slowly on your way to work or even in the first hour at work.\u00a0 My hubby even loves this recipe because it tastes like a peanut butter and banana milkshake.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Really Spinach?!?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spinach is fat free, cholesterol free, low in calories, and very low in sodium<\/li>\n<li>Spinach is an excellent source of vitamin A, C, K, iron, fiber, folate, and lutein<\/li>\n<li>Leutin is an antioxidant that promotes good eye health, and may help prevent cancer of the liver, ovaries, colon and prostate, and even dementia.<\/li>\n<li>Dole lab tests found spinach juice has twice the chlorophyl, eight times the calcium, six times the magnesium, 10 times the potassium, 15 times the vitamin C and 43 times the vitamin A of wheatgrass juice!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/12.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-615 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/12.jpg?resize=525%2C782\" alt=\"12\" width=\"525\" height=\"782\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/12.jpg?w=594&amp;ssl=1 594w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/12.jpg?resize=201%2C300&amp;ssl=1 201w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/12.jpg?resize=101%2C150&amp;ssl=1 101w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Original Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/iowagirleats.com\/2012\/01\/04\/my-top-secret-diet-weapon\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pinterest!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Serves 1<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><br \/>\n1 frozen sliced banana<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon peanut butter<br \/>\n1\/2 cup 0% Vanilla Greek yogurt<br \/>\n1 cup light Soy Milk<br \/>\n4 cups baby spinach (or more, or less)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nutritional stats: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>350 calories, 10g fiber, 21g protein<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>TIPS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I have a cheap cheap blender and it works just fine!<\/li>\n<li>The bananas really should be frozen.\u00a0 I do mine at the beginning of the week.
