{"id":640,"date":"2015-01-23T15:13:42","date_gmt":"2015-01-23T22:13:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=640"},"modified":"2015-01-23T19:50:07","modified_gmt":"2015-01-24T02:50:07","slug":"i-dont-vs-i-cant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=640","title":{"rendered":"I don&#8217;t vs. I can&#8217;t"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ah&#8230;.the end of January.\u00a0 We are finally getting through what I think is one of the most obnoxious months of the year.\u00a0 Everywhere you go and everywhere you look right now there are motivational signs.\u00a0 &#8220;The New You!&#8221; &#8220;Meet your Goals!&#8221; &#8220;Miracle Pill&#8221;&#8230;&#8230;blah blah blah.\u00a0 I do think this is an awesome time to start new things and set new goals, I just don&#8217;t want it crammed down my throat everywhere I go.\u00a0 Also&#8230;.the lists&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; Every facebook post, article, and recommended ad link is a list.\u00a0 10 ways to use coconut oil, 15 diets to try, 27.3 breakfast recipes, The top ten pairs of underwear from 2014&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.yuck.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks back, my aunt posted one of these lists on Facebook and I&#8217;m so glad she did.\u00a0 After reading it, one of the points has stuck with me and I keep returning to it.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the full article, yes it&#8217;s another list: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2014\/12\/28\/phrases-change-your-life_n_6372404.html?ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000063\" target=\"_blank\">15 Phrases that Will Change Your Life in 2015<\/a>.\u00a0 I have to admit, when I read the title I threw up in my mouth a little.\u00a0 Change my life? Really.\u00a0 I clicked anyway and so should you. After reading the first one, I kept reading and ended up loving this list.\u00a0 While I found the whole list to be helpful and inspiring, #8 has stuck with me for weeks now. I say &#8220;I don&#8217;t eat that&#8221; a lot, especially around my students.\u00a0 I even think there&#8217;s a tad of judgement when saying &#8220;I don&#8217;t&#8221;.\u00a0 When a student offers me hot cheetos I say, &#8220;I don&#8217;t eat those because&#8230;&#8230;.&#8221; and I think it makes them think twice about eating them too.\u00a0 If I say, &#8220;I can&#8217;t eat those&#8221; then it implies that I want to eat them, I just can&#8217;t and I can honestly say, I never want to eat hot cheetos!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/aaa-hell-yes-poster.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-642 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/aaa-hell-yes-poster.jpg?resize=525%2C455\" alt=\"aaa-hell-yes-poster\" width=\"525\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/aaa-hell-yes-poster.jpg?w=660&amp;ssl=1 660w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/aaa-hell-yes-poster.jpg?resize=300%2C260&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/aaa-hell-yes-poster.jpg?resize=150%2C130&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>My I Don&#8217;t List<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a list of foods that I just don&#8217;t eat.\u00a0 Some are hard and others are easy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I don&#8217;t eat doughnuts. <\/strong>They are too sugary and I threw up the last time I had one which was over a year ago.
