{"id":713,"date":"2015-02-27T17:29:29","date_gmt":"2015-02-28T00:29:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=713"},"modified":"2015-02-27T17:29:29","modified_gmt":"2015-02-28T00:29:29","slug":"hungry-vs-hangry-vs-starving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=713","title":{"rendered":"Hungry vs. Hangry vs. Starving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that I am changing my fitness routine, I need to change my eating routine.\u00a0 In order to be a boxer, I need to eat like one.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been taking boxing for a few weeks now and mixing it with my normal routine.\u00a0 I was expecting for my body to feel the adjustment and it definitely has.\u00a0 However, I wasn&#8217;t expecting it to effect my eating habits and it did.<\/p>\n<p>So let&#8217;s look at the difference.\u00a0 Is being hungry ok? What is hangry? How will I know if I&#8217;m starving myself and not just dieting?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/slide_324961_3107877_free.gif\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-714\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/slide_324961_3107877_free.gif?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"slide_324961_3107877_free\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hungry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It took me a long time at the beginning of my weight loss to understand hunger.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;d been hungry for YEARS.\u00a0 I was overeating so often that one meal just ran into the next before I could begin to feel hungry.\u00a0 Now when I think about, I feel like I was stuffed for years.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t even remember what feeling hungry really was. One of my first rules when I started dieting, is that I&#8217;d always wait to get hungry before the next meal or snack.\u00a0 This took a while to be routine, but now I just always do it.\u00a0 I try to listen to my body and let it tell me when it&#8217;s time.\u00a0 Now, I don&#8217;t like to eat if I&#8217;m not hungry.<\/p>\n<p>If you are at the beginning of your weight loss, I encourage you to really listen to you body.\u00a0 How does it feel to be hungry? How much food makes you not hungry? What is the balance? When you&#8217;re hunger is effecting your mental state, you&#8217;re too hungry .\u00a0 Try to eat within a half hour of getting hungry at least.\u00a0 When I have gone too long without eating, I get HANGRY.\u00a0 At this point, I&#8217;m so hungry, I&#8217;m willing to do almost anything to get food.\u00a0 Included: push old ladies out of the way, punch a puppy, throw myself down and cry, eat the 6 month old circus peanut floating around the bottom of my bag&#8230;.etc. I usually get hangry when something else is out of control.\u00a0 Sometimes you have to wait longer than expected at a meeting, get caught socializing with someone&#8230;..so on. I try to not get to the &#8216;hangry stage&#8217; if at all possible.<\/p>\n<p>Not everyone gets Hangry.\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 Some people start to get sleepy.\u00a0 Others start to lose focus.\u00a0 If you are too hungry, it will start to effect your mental state.\u00a0 Do not do this to yourself.\u00a0 Eat as soon as possible.\u00a0 The people around you will thank you.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Holychuk-eating-girl-with-sign-pix-191x300.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-716\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Holychuk-eating-girl-with-sign-pix-191x300.jpg?resize=191%2C300\" alt=\"Holychuk-eating-girl-with-sign-pix-191x300\" width=\"191\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Holychuk-eating-girl-with-sign-pix-191x300.jpg?resize=191%2C300&amp;ssl=1 191w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Holychuk-eating-girl-with-sign-pix-191x300.jpg?resize=96%2C150&amp;ssl=1 96w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 191px) 100vw, 191px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Starving <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sorry for the above picture.\u00a0 I want to rip this sign down and punch that girl the the face.\u00a0 The truth is YOU CAN BE TOO SKINNY.\u00a0 Also, you can starve yourself without being skinny.\u00a0 It is NEVER ok to skip a\u00a0 meal, eat way less or see how long you can go without eating.\u00a0 Never.\u00a0 I find the above photo repulsive.<\/p>\n<p>What I really mean here is you could be starving yourself without realizing it.\u00a0 Make sure you have set your calorie goals with doctors advice or at least lots of research.\u00a0 You could be starving yourself without even knowing it.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>What your stomach says when you&#8217;re not eating enough<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hey.\u00a0 I need some food down here.\u00a0 Hey! Ok.\u00a0 Well if you&#8217;re not going to give me what I want, I&#8217;m going to hold on to every calorie I possibly can because I don&#8217;t know when I&#8217;m getting any more.\u00a0 I hate you. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>What your stomach says when you&#8217;re eating enough <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yo.\u00a0 Send me some food.\u00a0 Hey thanks!
