{"id":859,"date":"2015-05-23T17:20:33","date_gmt":"2015-05-23T23:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=859"},"modified":"2015-05-23T17:20:33","modified_gmt":"2015-05-23T23:20:33","slug":"swimsuit-shopping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogapantsdiary.com\/?p=859","title":{"rendered":"Swimsuit Shopping&#8230;.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, after the half marathon, I REALLY wanted to get in a hot tub.\u00a0 I quickly realized I have no friends with a hot tub and I&#8217;m too cheap to pay to go anywhere.\u00a0 Then I realized, even if I knew someone, I didn&#8217;t have a swimming suit.\u00a0 The last time I bought a swimming suit was last June maybe.\u00a0 That was 4 pants sizes ago and probably 20 to 30 pounds.\u00a0 Needless to say, when I tried on my old suit, it wouldn&#8217;t hardly stay on my body.<\/p>\n<p>So it&#8217;s that time again; the time every woman hates.\u00a0 I have to go swimsuit shopping.\u00a0 I have to admit that I was actually really excited about it.\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t tried on swimsuits since I was a kid.\u00a0 In my fat days, I would just order one and hope for the best.\u00a0 Since I rarely had to wear it around people, it didn&#8217;t really matter how it fit or what it looked like.<\/p>\n<p>But now I have a body that I actually kind of like.\u00a0 Note the: kind of attached to that sentence.\u00a0 A lot of people don&#8217;t really get it.\u00a0 Yes I lost a ton of weight.\u00a0 Yes my pants are 1\/4 the size that they used to be.\u00a0 Yes I feel awesome and confident about myself.\u00a0 But, that doesn&#8217;t mean that I&#8217;m happy with how my body looks.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve worked really hard to look how I do but there are some things that hard work is never going to change.\u00a0 My skin will always be loose.\u00a0 My stomach will never be flat or a six pack.\u00a0 My body will never look like a fitness model but it&#8217;s my own damn fault.<\/p>\n<p>In some ways I&#8217;ve accepted it.\u00a0 I no longer care about changing my shirt at the gym or wearing more revealing clothing.\u00a0 I wear tank tops again and shorts even though it shows my loose skin.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve come to accept it in some places. In some ways I don&#8217;t care at all and figure it&#8217;s other people&#8217;s problem if they don&#8217;t like it.\u00a0 But no one really understands it.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to find anyone who knows what it&#8217;s like to lose 50% of their body.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to put in so much work and not feel like my body looks much better. It&#8217;s hard to carry around the loose sack of who you used to be.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s time to put that to rest.\u00a0 I&#8217;m trying to care less, but it&#8217;s hard.\u00a0 Someday I&#8217;ll have skin surgery but I still won&#8217;t look perfect.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll forever carry around who I used to be.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to realize that no matter how fit I stay for the rest of my life, there will always have been a morbidly obese version of me.\u00a0 Some people will always know what I used to look like.\u00a0 Other people only know me now and can&#8217;t imagine what that was like.<\/p>\n<p>I have no before and after swim suit shot.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think a photo of me exists in my swim suit before.\u00a0 I think today I might have taken the only ones that exist!\u00a0 But here goes.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to post a photo of myself in a bathing suit!\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t buy it because I didn&#8217;t like how it fit.\u00a0 I even tried on a bikini just because I could.\u00a0 Those photos I&#8217;ll keep for myself.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s my purpose in posting this photo: My body isn&#8217;t perfect.\u00a0 Even after meeting all of my fitness and health goals, there are still things I want to change.\u00a0 There are other things that will never change.\u00a0 But I&#8217;ll continue to love myself, push myself and try to accept the body that I have.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/swimwuit.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-861\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/swimwuit-667x1024.png?resize=525%2C806\" alt=\"swimwuit\" width=\"525\" height=\"806\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/swimwuit.png?resize=667%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 667w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/swimwuit.png?resize=196%2C300&amp;ssl=1 196w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/swimwuit.png?resize=98%2C150&amp;ssl=1 98w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/swimwuit.png?w=1589&amp;ssl=1 1589w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/yogapantsdiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/swimwuit.png?w=1050&amp;ssl=1 1050w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, after the half marathon, I REALLY wanted to get in a hot tub.\u00a0 I quickly realized I have no friends with a hot tub and I&#8217;m too cheap to pay to go anywhere.\u00a0 Then I realized, even if I knew someone, I didn&#8217;t have a swimming suit.\u00a0 The last time I bought a &hellip;
